How MyLabRanges works
You enter only the results you have. Where your laboratory has supplied a reference range, MyLabRanges is designed to use that range first. If no range is shown on your report, the checker can use a suggested adult reference range for many of the included tests.
Some measurements, such as HbA1c, fasting glucose and eGFR, are better interpreted using established categories rather than a simple lower-and-upper interval. The checker handles those tests differently so they are not forced into an inappropriate “normal range” model.
What is included
The current version covers 20 commonly encountered tests across six groups: Full Blood Count, Kidney & Electrolytes, Blood Sugar, Liver Function, Cholesterol and Thyroid.
The tool is currently intended for non-pregnant adults aged 18 and over. Reference ranges can vary between laboratories and can also depend on factors such as age, sex, clinical history, medicines and the method used by the laboratory.
Why your laboratory range comes first
There is no single universal reference interval for every blood test. Laboratories may use slightly different equipment, methods and locally validated intervals. For that reason, MyLabRanges gives priority to the range printed on your own laboratory report whenever you have it.
Privacy by design
The blood test values you type into the checker are processed locally in your browser. MyLabRanges does not upload or store those entered laboratory values on a server.
